2022 Annual Social Benefit Report

To whom it may concern,

In accordance with 2018 Utah H.B. 186 - Benefit Limited Liability Company Act. 48-4-101/402, this report is intended to provide information to members and the general public regarding what social benefits MERRY THIEVES, BLLC provided in 2022.

Overview

In 2022, MERRY THIEVES BLLC continued to provide community support through volunteer work, loaning gear, and by providing studio space and other resources to independent creators, non-profits, civic organizations, and others.

Here are some of the projects we engaged in in 2022.

Salton Studios

MERRY THIEVES BLLC has run a community studio called Salton Studios since 2020. It provides free access to training, gear, resources, studio time, and other forms of support to independent creators, non-profits, civic organizations and more.

Martha Hughes Cannon App

In 2022 MERRY THIEVES BLLC began working working on an Augmented Reality app to share stories from Utah’s past. We continued on our previous path of telling stories about Utah’s historic women. We released our app, which shows a selection from Cannon’s speech on suffrage before the state legislature.

We later partnered with Better Days 2020, a 502(c)3 non-profit organization to integrate our app into their work. We plan to show it this year at their events.
